The death of newspapers, predicted in 1981

OK, to be fair, nobody would have predicted the death of newspapers from this video back in 1981.



But should it really have taken 27 more years?




Maybe if we would have paid more attention to this graph.

This is certainly interesting, but some of the decline is because we have new ways of advertising, starting primarily with radio and TV and then, of course, the Internet. Do you have any stats on total $ spend on newspapers? Although I would prefer it, I don’t see newspapers going away any time soon.
